Our Mission:
To simplify the way the Produce Industry locates produce by providing a platform where industry growers can market their products, pricing and location at real time speed.
The concept for Fresh Produce Locator began when founder, David Castillo worked as a buyer in the produce industry. His job was to locate the most cost effective produce for his customers. A typical morning for David began with the analysis of dozens of price sheets that were faxed or emailed to him on a daily basis. The reviewing, memorizing, locating and establishment of availability for each product was a time consuming task. David realized there should be an easier way of locating a particular product at the best price and from an optimum location. Knowing that time is of the essence when it comes to buying and selling perishable items, he realized that the speed of the internet needed to be part of the solution. From this idea, Fresh Produce Locator was born.
